The first half of August we have both the Sun and Mercury Retrograde in the sign of Cancer making this time an emotional ride. Mid-August, when the Sun moves into Leo, along with Ketu in Leo, it challenges leadership. Plus, on August 10, we have a rare planetary “parade” that will be visible in the predawn sky, with six planets and the Moon appearing in a line. Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Neptune and Saturn will be in alignment and is seen as a potent time for personal growth, manifesting and spiritual awakening.
July 28 –September 18: Mars in Virgo in the Nakshatra Uttara Phalguni (until August 13)
Mars finally moves away from a Conjunction with Ketu, helping to calm restless energy and restore rational momentum. During this time direct Mars in Virgo Opposes Retrograde Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. This planetary faceoff challenges patience and clarity and brings pressure and tension. Caution is advised between the need to act and the need to pause, impulsive energy and disciplined patience. Mars in Virgo relates to health and healing. Keep your immune system up as Neptune rules hidden illnesses.
August 8: Mars Opposing Saturn and Neptune AND a Grand Trine with Uranus, Mars and Pluto
| Mars Opposing Saturn is a difficult aspect which can bring sudden unexpected changes. A Grand Trine is formed when three planets are all 120 degrees apart to each other. In this case, this is very strong because Uranus, Mars and Pluto are all in Earth Signs which can bring unexpected changes such as earthquakes. |
August 9: Full Moon in Capricorn in the Nakshatra Shravana
During this powerful Full Moon, Pluto, Mars, Saturn and Neptune will all be at 7 degrees. This brings an energy of transformation, particularly with the Full Moon activating Pluto which could bring sudden endings and changes. The Nakshatra Shravana is associated with learning, listening and wisdom. Listen to your own intuition as it will be strong during this time. Powerful time to cleanse your crystals—go ahead and put them out! Leave them out for the August 10 planetary alignment too!
August 11: Mercury Turns Direct in Cancer
A good time to process the past few weeks. Organize your life and bring back balance in communication, decision making and emotional clarity.
August 16—September 16: Sun Transits into Leo with Nakshatra Magha
Powerful Sun in Leo bringing creative energy. Heightened confidence, self-expression, and leadership. Magha is associated with themes of authority, legacy, ancestral wisdom, and spiritual power. Donald Trump’s rising is in Leo in the Nakshatra Magha and this could deal with authority and power.
August 20-September 14: Venus Transits into Cancer
The focus will be on emotional expression and nurturing in relationships. It will encourage deeper emotional connections, empathy and understanding in personal and professional relationships.
August 23: New Moon in Leo in the Nakshatra Magha and Uranus Squares the New Moon, August 25 it Squares the Sun
Ketu is also in Leo and the Nakshatra Magha is ruled by Ketu itself, so this is a very powerful time involving world leaders. This New Moon can bring transformational energy into our life and the world.
August 30—September 14: Mercury Transits int Leo
This transit brings opportunities for leadership, public speaking, and expressing oneself with passion and enthusiasm. However, it does carry the potential for drama! Mindful expression is advised.
