February 2026 Vedic Astrology
Solar Eclipse Energy! Year of the Fire Horse! Lots of Action! Pivotal!
February emerges as a potent and transformative month! This month begins with a powerful Full Moon in its home of Cancer, along with a Stellium of planets in Capricorn – Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon and Pluto! Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, is the sign of duty, structure, responsibility, discipline, long-term goals and social order. Capricorn deals with governments around the world.
This month quickly becomes emotionally charged, as the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Rahu all align in Aquarius. A Stellium in Aquarius is a cosmic signal that the universe is demanding a radical shift towards progressive ideas, collective well-being and innovative thinking. Strong possibilities of releasing outdated goals and aligning with the future needs of humanity.
This marks a significant energetic PIVOT from deep-seated karmic structures to a paradigm of forward momentum and embracing of the future –especially with ENERGETIC Year of the Fire Horse on the same day as the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius! As if this were not enough, there will be INTENSE Conjunctions between Saturn & Neptune and Rahu & Mars!
Buckle up!
February 1: Full Moon in Cancer at 18 Degrees in the Nakshatra Ashlesha
This powerful Full Moon directly opposes the Capricorn Stellium, creating a powerful axis of tension between home and emotions and career and duty. Pluto, Mars, Sun, Venus and Mercury are all in Capricorn –during this Full Moon. Mars is exalted in Capricorn, making it in its strongest position and is a potential trigger for events.
Full Moons in general highlight situations making situations clear for us. Because Cancer is ruled by the Moon, this lunar energy is magnified, making this period highly sensitive, emotional and intuitive.
The Nakshatra Ashlesha is intense and it is known as a “Gandanta” Nakshatra as it is a bridge between water (Cancer) and fire (Leo), making it a point of deep spiritual and karmic transformation. Ashlesha is the Coiled Serpent, Kundalini energy, and ruled by the Nagas – the Serpent Deities—which are associated with mystical insight and regeneration. Serpents represent wisdom, transformation, hidden knowledge, and healing.
This is a time to do inner work, self-reflection, going deep within—not surface level. Time for deep shadow work. Being a Gandanta Nakshatra, this Full Moon can be a karmic turning point. It can bring a situation to a head that demands you to resolve a deep-seated karmic pattern or emotional “knot” that has been present for a long time. Themes will revolve around transformation, hidden wisdom, intense emotional revelations, and psychological insight.
Go ahead and put your crystals out for clearing and cleaning as it is a FANTASTIC night for deep cleansing and rebooting your crystals, especially for heavy-duty emotional work. This time—BECAUSE this Full Moon is in the Nakshatra Ashlesha, be INTENTIONAL about asking the Moon to “shed” the old energy.
February 3-April 10: Mercury Transits Aquarius
This is a time when intellect turns towards the collective. A time more interested in societal issues. Potent time for communication breakthroughs and connecting for the greater good.
February 5-March 1: Venus Transits Aquarius
Venus in Aquarius breaks down the traditional often rigid structures in relationships, pushing for relationships based on equality, freedom and intellectual stimulation rather that duty or dependency.
February 12-March 14: Sun Transits Aquarius
Original thinking, unconventional ideas and a focus on social progress.
This can bring a rebellious streak, challenging outdated norms and old systems.
February 17: New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse 4 Degrees of Aquarius in the Nakshatra Dinishtra
We will have a rare and powerful Mega Eclipse forming with five planets involved, Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Rahu creating an intense karmic window that doesn’t happen often.
Eclipses are important because they are beginning moments or time periods that progressively shift the awareness and consciousness to make a larger collective change in the world.
Sometimes referred to as a “Ring of Fire” Eclipse, astronomically, this occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun creating a visible ring of sunlight around the Moon’s edge. Visible from Antarctica, and parts of South America and South Africa, Ellipses are predominately stronger where they are seen. However, the energy of this Eclipse will make itself known everywhere!
The Nakshatra Dinishtra is ruled by Mars which can bring violence and conflict. Eclipses bring out the hidden and in Aquarius, which is about humanity, this will influence the world and how we view mankind. Mars is exalted in Capricorn and is Conjunct Pluto (transformation). This will put attention on world leaders. This is an intense eclipse with so many conjunctions happening including Rahu and Venus.
February 17: Chinese New Year, Year of the Fire Horse, with Solar Eclipse
This is a rare alignment because it is occurring with the Solar Eclipse. The last time the Chinese New Year fell on the same day as a Solar Eclipse was on January 26, 2009. On that day, there was an Annular Solar Eclipse, and it also marked the start of the Year of the Ox in the Chinese zodiac.
Known as a high-energy, “super-intense” time, this alignment is thought to represent a moment where old structures collapse and new, rapid changes are initiated. The Fire Horse year is considered extreme, suggesting a period of high passion and potential confrontation.
February 17-25: Saturn and Neptune Conjunct Exactly at 6 degrees of Pisces
Neptune represents illusions, compassion, spirituality, water and oil. Saturn represents structure, order, discipline and reality checks in life. During this time, Saturn tries to break the illusion of Neptune. These two planets conjunct every 36 years and can result in bringing floods, tsunamis, and rising oil prices. Can intensify navel disputes around the world.
Major world events can occur during this time period. In 1989 when this Conjunction was in Sagittarius –there was the fall of Berlin Wall and the Tiananmen Square protests, and the Valdex oil spill.
February 18: Pluto Changes from Uttarashada Nakshatra and Enters Shravana Naksthtra until 2035
Shravana Nakshatra stands for the ear, the star of listening and learning. Wisdom, guiding others, to teach, and learning to listen.
Pluto represents deep transformation, destruction of outdated systems, and rebirth. When these energies merge, humanity enters an era where the voice of the common people can no longer be ignored.
February 22:–April 2 Mars Transits Aquarius and Conjuncts Rahu
Following the Eclipse, Mars, the warrior planet, now enters Aquarius. Patience with Mars will be at a zero as it will head forward toward unconventional methods, challenging the status quo. Mars in Aquarius does not conform, it is a rebel with a cause breaking an outdated system. This transit is an adrenaline shot to the collective. It brings sudden, disruptive change. It breaks stagnation, but it requires a very steady hand to manage the volatility.
Manage your anger, pause before posting, breathe. This is right before Mercury goes Retrograde.
This transit is about social justice and humanitarian causes.
Rahu is about sudden turmoil, upheaval and disruption. What makes this phase deeply challenging for the world is it is combined with two powerful eclipses (February 17 and March 2-3), a rare Saturn and Neptune Conjunction, massive Planetary Stellium in Aquarius. Rahu has been Aquarius – since February 2025.
February 26-March 21: Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius
This Retrograde is essentially a “systems reboot” for our our social and technological lives. Things will need to be reviewed and fixed. Are our innovations working? Aquarius rules the Internet, electricity, and AI. Mercury rules data. This is a time that could bring website crashes, social media outages. Back up your digital life and double check your emails before they are sent out. Aquarius is the sign of the humanitarian. During this time there can be many misunderstandings. Review your tech security. Revisit old ideas.
February 27, 28: Mars (in Aquarius) Squares Uranus (in Taurus)
This creates a highly volatile, unpredictable energy. There can be a rise in social movements, activism, and a challenge to authority. Also, transiting Mars will cross over the eclipse degree of February 17 – when Mars crosses over that 4 degrees of Aquarius this can bring violence.
In essence, February 2026 is a month when old structures are challenged and dismantled to make way for innovative, collectively minded futures. The sheer concentration of planets in Aquarius, capped by the eclipse and the Mars-Rahu conjunction, creates a sense of urgent momentum and unavoidable change. For individuals, this means embracing courage, adapting quickly, and channeling intense energies into constructive, future-oriented action. It’s an invitation to become an active participant in building the new world, rather than passively observing its construction. Meditate, breathe, go out in nature—you’ve got this!
