March 2026 Vedic Astrology

Tension, Transformation & Significant Shifts

March is an extraordinarily dynamic and complex month. It begins with the Lunar Eclipse in Leo (Purva Phalguni Nakshatra), highlighting issues of power trips, egos, creative expression and relationships. Mercury continues to be in Retrograde in Aquarius obscuring clarity in communication, travel and technological matters. Together this brings emotional upheaval to the world stage. Another potent situation is the Mars and Rahu Conjunction in Aquarius (Shatabhisha Naksthatra) bringing unconventional action, radical social reform and breakthroughs in healing and technology. Simultaneously, this month brings ANOTHER twist and turn with Jupiter going Direct in Gemini (Punarvasu Nakshatra).  This positive energy brings renewed optimism and forward momentum to communication, learning and spiritual renewal helping us navigate the emotional and intellectual turbulence.

March 1-25: Venus Transits Pisces in Nakshatra PurvaBhadrapad
Venus, the planet of love, relationships, pleasure, and creativity, in Pisces, in its sign of exaltation, will allow it to express its highest qualities. For the first 4 days from March 1 through March 4 it will be in the Nakshatra Purva Bhadrapada which adds a unique, intense and somewhat transformative edge to these themes. Profound love and compassion can lead for a desire for deep connection. The energy supports pushing beyond conventional beauty to explore deeper meanings in your life.

March 3: TOTAL FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE in Leo
In Nakshatra PURVA PHALGUNI | The Blood Moon | The Moon and Ketu Conjunct in Leo

This Eclipse will be viewed from North America, East Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Region starting in the evening of March 2, peaking in the early hours of March 3.
Lunar Eclipses always impact the Moon, which represents our mind, emotions, Mother, inner peace, and relationships.

Ketu (the South Node) will be very close to the Moon, activating strong karmic energies around its themes. This period is for deep emotional release and introspection.

Leo, ruled by the Sun, signifies our ego, confidence, self-expression, creativity, leadership, children, romance, and desire for recognition. When the Moon (emotions) is eclipsed in Leo, it means the emotional upheaval will heavily center around these Leo based themes. Challenges to your self-worth and confidence along with emotional drama in romantic relationships. In Purva Phalguni Nakshatra, ruled by Venus, will bring about karmic lessons, compelling you to review your heart’s desires revealing the true nature of your relationship. This Eclipse pushes for emotional authenticity.

Eclipses are a point of reset or sudden change. This is not a time to make important decisions. Moon and Ketu Conjunct in Leo will be aspected by 4 planets in Aquarius—Sun, Rahu, Mars and Mercury—making this very POWERFUL!

Ketu represents the past. Relationships may be challenged. Leo rules powerful people including leaders in powerful positions.  leaders can make emotionally driven decisions causing issues worldwide. Leo is about understanding our true self as it is ruled by the Sun. Aquarius is our role in larger society.

The Moon Conjunct Ketu brings STRONG INTUITION and can bring a very deep meditation experience.
At the same time while Mercury is Retrograde you may find yourself reviewing your life, looking at your options in deeper terms. Eclipses are not a good day for any major new plan or initiative.

A Lunar Eclipse is not considered a good day to put your crystals out for clearing, recharging, or setting intentions. Use this special time for INTROSPECTION, not manifestation. Turn inwards for spiritual practices, introspection, and releasing.

MARCH 3-20: Mars moves into Nakshatra Shatabishta,
This Nakshatra relates to mysticism and independent spirit. Shatabishta translates literally to ONE HUNDREN PHYSICIANS and it’s Shakti—it’s energy—is for healing. Mars brings strong energy making this is a time for a new health routine and overcoming obstacles.

On the world stage this will be a period of aggressive, unconventional action and assertive movements. Also, a powerful energy for social reform.

March 11: Jupiter Direct in Gemini in Punarvasu Naksthatra
This is a powerful shift because Jupiter is revered as the greatest benefic planet—considered positive, auspicious and growth oriented. Its nature is one of expansion, wisdom, and benevolence. Jupiter has been retrograde for the past four months so this is a positive influence and especially needed during such an energy intense time! Here’s hoping that Jupiter’s influence can mitigate the intensity of this time!

Gemini is about trade, communication and travel. There is an energy of renewed optimism, growth—particularly in communication, knowledge, and the collective well-being. This is especially auspicious because Jupiter rules the Nakshatra Punarvasu making this time supercharged. Themes for renewal, recovery, reestablishing balance and finding renewed optimism and embarking on journeys that lead to growth are possible now.

March 13-14: Mars-Rahu Exact Conjunction at 14 Degrees of Aquarius in the Nakshatra Shatabhisha
Rahu is explosive and magnifies Mars in Aquarius. This is an extremely potent and volatile time signifying a period of intense energies bringing unconventional action.  It can signify rebellious actions, protests and unconventional movements aimed at pushing social norms.

Additionally, this happens during the Kala Sarpa Yoga (which began on March 3) and occurs when all seven planets are hemmed between the Rahu-Ketu Axis. This is often associated with intense life transformations, abrupt endings, and unconventional paths toward success. Because of the Nakshatra Shatabhisha, which is ruled by Rahu, it can bring innovation in healing, research, and uncovering truths.

This is a time to bring conscious awareness.

March 18: New Moon 4 degrees of Pisces in Nakshatra Uttara Bhadrapada
This is a powerful New Moon for disciplined spiritual growth, setting intentions for profound introspection and building foundations for your highest ideas. Tap into ancient wisdom seek liberation from the past and commit to selfless service. Uttara Bhadrapada is symbolized by the back legs of a funeral cot representing deep wisdom, spiritual transformation, and the final resting phase. This Nakshatra is associated with endings, but endings that lead to new beginnings. Excellent time to intentionally release old habits, karmic patterns or limiting beliefs that prevent your spiritual or personal growth.

March 21: Mercury Direct in Aquarius and Conjunct Rahu
Both Mercury and Aquarius rule technology and the media. The direct motion and Rahu Conjunction will supercharge this area. There can be rapid advancements in communication that has a lasting impact on collective thought.  This is a highly charged period where communication, intellect and collective ideas shift from review to accelerated forward motion! A powerful push for clarity and expression involving technology and humanitarian causes. The Rahu Conjunction needs careful discernment as revolutionary ideas or information may be amplified to an almost obsessive degree (Rahu) carrying lots of potential for breakthroughs and at the same time a risk of illusion or misdirection.

March 25: Saturn & Sun Conjunct at 11 degrees Pisces
The Sun represents the soul, ego, purpose, and Saturn is the great disciplinarian, karma, and responsibility. When two planets are Conjunct at the same degree, their energies merge and influence each other intensely. This is considered one of the most difficult conjunctions. Saturn dims the Sun’s light and the Sun’s brilliance agitates Saturn’s more cautious, restrictive nature.

You might find yourself facing situations that test your faith, compassion, or ability to maintain boundaries. The lessons learned during this time will be profound and long-lasting, often related to releasing ego attachments in spiritual pursuits.  Pisces is highly empathetic. This Conjunction can bring a heavy sense of responsibility or burden related to the suffering of others.

Leaders and governments will face scrutiny and accountability. This could manifest as public discontent with established leadership. Spiritual leaders or religious organizations may face significant challenges or karmic reckonings. Integrity might be questioned.

The entire month is energetically demanding. Both meditation and spending time in nature are incredibly restorative. They act as essential tools to replenish your emotional and energetic reserves. This month is about spiritual growth!
