May 2024 Vedic Astrology
High Highs, Low Lows!
May begins with the sacred energy known as May Day, from the festival of Beltane. This is an ancient seasonal Gaelic festival celebrating the pastoral summer season, the point between the spring and summer solstice. Time to awaken your solar fire with abundance and optimism!
May awakens our passion!
May 1: Jupiter Transits Into Taurus
In Vedic Astrology, the transit of this gigantic planet has a far reaching impact on different spheres of our lives, such as personal growth, abundance and opportunities. This can be life changing for many people.
This ushers in a powerful new cycle for creative manifestation in your life. The last time Jupiter was in Taurus was in May 2012-May 2013. Look back at your life during that time and see what you can learn from that period.
May 2: Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn Until October 11 PLUS: Pluto Will Square Venus
When Pluto is Retrograde it becomes stronger which may manifest as intense negativity. At the same time of the Retrograde process, Pluto will Square Venus. Pluto represents our shadows and vulnerabilities.
Now is the time to reevaluate your priorities regarding relationships. This transit can have a profound effect on all relationships. Power and control issues may arise in existing relationships. Simmering tension may surface as some manipulative behavior like jealousy or possessiveness. At the root of such behaviors would be a deeply buried fear or insecurity about not feeling loved or valued.
For the world at large, this aspect can suggest further economic upheaval, major earthquakes, storms, terror events, maritime disasters, discord, chaotic events, wars, or assassinations. Pluto’s retrograde period (and especially during the ten days on either side of the retrograde and direct stations) can also intensify social, political, and economic crises happening across our planet. This influence may be especially strong in the United States because Pluto will be stationing retrograde in close conjunction with natal Pluto in the United States chart.
May 3 to June 4: Jupiter Will Be Combust – A Time to Be Extra- Mindful
Jupiter will be Combust the Sun from May 3 to June 4. When a planet is Combust, it is so close to the Sun so that it becomes invisible to us. This proximity to the Sun can cause Jupiter to lose some of its strength and influence. When Jupiter is Combust, it is easy to become agitated, lose our direction and our sense of meaning and purpose. People may experience hopelessness, self-doubt, and a sense of scarcity. Jupiter combustion occurs once every year, so we all have had experience with it. More importantly, this is happening as part of the overall karmic curriculum in our “Earth School of Life.” Time to remember our faith and realign with our highest purpose and path in life.
May 7: New Moon in Aries – A Time for Rebirth and a Fresh Start
The New Moon will occur in courageous, energetic, and progressive Aries and in the highly emotional Bharani Nakshatra. Venus and Uranus will Conjunct the New Moon, and Saturn will aspect the Moon. All these influences signify a very unusual mix of energies.
The Conjunction of the Moon with Uranus and Venus in Aries suggests the potential for unexpected relationship dynamics, sudden new realizations, and a significant change in fortune or a new direction.
